BIG NEWS! After its journey from Newgrounds to Scratch, Pong Colours has now been completely ported over to the Godot 4 Engine! This has been a major undertaking, basically rebuilding the game from the ground up, and it opens the door for WAY more cool stuff in the future.

This isn't just a port, it's a huge upgrade! Check out what's new in this version:

NEW FEATURES

• Built in Godot 4! Should feel smoother and allows for cooler effects.
• SAVING! Yes, finally! Your Player Name, Options (Volume, Display, Point Limit), and Achievements are now saved automatically!
• Functional Options Menu!
  • Separate Music & SFX Volume Sliders (SFX sounds coming soon!).
  • Resolution & Fullscreen Settings.
  • Custom Point Limit! You can now change the score needed to win a match via the Options menu.
  • Reset Data Button (does what it says!).
• Achievements! We have the same 8 unique achievements to unlock and collect, including tracking specific paddle usage across games! Can you get them all?
• Achievement Banner: Get that sweet visual feedback when you unlock something cool!
• Particle Effects: Little bursts of colour when the ball hits a paddle!
• Parallax Star Background: Added a dynamic, twinkling starry background.
• Controller Support (Gameplay): You can now fully play the core Pong game using a controller's D-Pad or Left Stick! (UI still needs the mouse for now.)
• Expanded Paddle Pool: Memes paddles are now included in the random selection alongside Colours and Pride flags!

BUG FIXES / IMPROVEMENTS

• Physics Overhaul: Implemented Godot's physics for (hopefully) more stable and predictable ball movement. Tackled that annoying ball edge bug!
• Smoother Movement: Paddle movement uses smoothing for a less jerky feel.
• Smarter AI: The AI opponent now uses some basic prediction to react more realistically.

What's Next?

This Godot port is the new foundation. Future plans include:

• Actual SFX sounds!
• More achievements!
• Local multiplayer!
  
• Full UI controller navigation.
• Maybe even more paddle types...? 👀
